Roomates
Privately shared spaces

The mobile device is used as an integral part of our social lives, but the way it is structured and interfaces with the user does not reflect that. It is built around tasks and functions rather than around people. can our social behaviors and modes of communication be reflected within the mobile environment ? Can we change the mobile device's perspective from functional tasking to social tasking?

Roomates, creates privately shared spaces/rooms with a selected group of friends where the future is planned, the present is shared and the past is reflected upon within the mobile device.

A room is dynamically created by selecting its members from your contacts. It holds all communication items the members of the group share: text, voice, images and videos.
Each room is represented as a tab. To handle multiple social tasks, such as planning an evening out with one group, while checking out the action in another group, the user switches between the room tabs.
